This year National Home Security Month (NHSM) will be bigger and better than ever. We have an extensive range of home security topics to cover over the duration of the October, so there is something for everyone.
The campaign begins on the 3rd October and will give you a variety of tips and ‘home hacks’ on how to keep everything you hold dear secure throughout the year. The second week enforces this message with the ‘Safe as Houses’ theme and focuses on traditional security solutions, such as the importance of having British Standard door locks and the impact a visible alarm system can have.
Week three looks at the evolution of security devices, welcoming the age of Smart Home Security and exploring everything from smart alarms, CCTV, locks and lighting. Week four will highlight how the clocks’ going back affects us all with tips on how to secure your properties parameters.
NHSM will conclude by preparing you for the nights of the year when the most burglaries take place – Halloween and Bonfire Night. In a recent analysis of ten years worth of data, it has been proven that Halloween is statistically the worst day of the year for vandalism and malicious damage to homes where it increases by 160%. Bonfire night comes in a close second, where the likelihood of being burgled goes up by 22%.*
